Ways We Help
The Focus of Our Efforts
The Missing Voices

The classroom filled quickly, but the room still felt empty. The scene reflected a larger concern: campus diversity remains uneven. In 2023, Black and Hispanic students each made up about 20% of U.S. college enrollment, compared with 46% of White students. Campus diversity matters because students learn from classmates with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. It can challenge assumptions, encourage respectful discussion, and prepare students to work in a diverse society. When students see people like themselves represented, they are also more likely to feel welcomed, valued, and confident that they belong. Diversity is more than numbers—it strengthens both belonging and learning.
